any suggestions lads ?? after market fans ? or strip the existing motors n try to free off the carbon brushes ??

Hi all has anyone replaced the brushes in the fan motors for the radiator ?? none of my fans are working i dont want to fork out for another 2nd hand unit and the same happens again in a few months none of my fans are working both of the relays are clicking over at the correct temperatures and there is 12v present at the wires to the motor i think there just shot now but with summer cumming up i cant rely on my heaters for cool the engine down in traffic any suggestions lads ?? after market fans ? or strip the existing motors n try to free off the carbon brushes ?? |

I didn't think the motors had serviceable brushes... I could be wrong though. I've got 2 fans including the Cowling that were removed working 2 years ago. If I can fine them then a 5er and they're yours collected. |

top bloke i know the heaters have replaceable brushes but im not sure on the fans thanks mate pm me when you find them im off this week and can pick up any time dude cheers mate |

ok cheers mate yea i thought it was a rare occurrence i have removed the old fan motors from the cowling after about slicing my wrists on the slam pannel in the process i am going to strip the old motors and see whats going down first and why they dont turn under power honestly im not a cheap sk8 just hate not knowing why things fail |

they should be in my parents garage... I'm going to see then at the weekend so will look them out. |
