Over the past month or so I've been having problems with my stereo
I'd start the car in a morning and there would be no sound, then after a while it would just come on or I would pull it out and give it a tap, then it would work
However it's now stopped working all together, the sound that is.
The sound graphic works like it's playing music but no sound at all
So today I decided I would swap the stereo for a different one and it's still the same, which ruled out the amp in the stereo
I tried 4 different ones all together and all with the same outcome
I've checked continuity to one of the speakers and it was fine, it should have been working

so now I'm baffled

Please help as my exhaust is starting to kill my hearing, I've got constant tinitus! But that could be the wife nagging at me!!

I pinged the speaker wires and the couple I checked were fine, so at least one speaker should have worked
A for the wiring harness, Do the 2 plugs that go into the back of the stereo (doesn't need an after Market loom) have one plug further down the loom?

Could 2 wires touching cause this problem??

No idea about the plug but I'd say if you short one speaker it would prob affect the other ?

Check your wiring both ends ?

Does sound like one of your speakers is shorting out which will mean that none of the speakers will make any sound.

It will most likely be one of the door speakers, probably the neg or pos wire that is catching on the bare metal of the door around where the speaker mounts Thumbs up

Pet hate in here is grammar, specially text speak!
So dont use it and always use fullstops at the end of sentences and you'll go far Smile

sorted it, or should i say i've found the issue.

wiring to the passenger rear speaker
every time i touch the + speaker cable from the stereo loom to the plug it shuts the sound off.
gonna try some speaker cable direct to it to see what happens
