My clutch has been slipping.. on & off since i bought the car in november, it's just starting to give out bad now. Just wanting some advice on which clutch to go for whether a phase 2 Rreg that i broke for parts would fit my phase 3 Wreg or is it not worth the hastle to put a second hand one in? cheers in advance

dont bother with an used one, Valeo or LUK, or Sachs will do the job, wise to replace the two white bushes whilst you have the box off, less than £2. also the input shaft seal carrier that the release bearing slides on is about £20, if this is damaged it'll make the clutch a bit sticky as well as the bushes making stuff a bit stuiff.

driveshaft seals of course, and fresh pug spec oil.

Hmmm I'd get someone to give you hand if your doing it your self bud as they are very much a nightmare to get the box back on with the fork arm behind the thrust bearing Yes

As Bowen says, these boxes are a nightmare to get back on.

If you've never done a clutch before I would really find someone who has and that way you should be able to get the job done. The clutch mechanism on these cars is a "pull" type rather than a "push" and for that reason it makes it difficult to line up getting the box mated back up with the engine. Wink

As said, get a new genuine Valeo or luk clutch.
I bought my Valeo clutch clutch kit from Euro car parts a few weeks ago and they are doing 15% off clutches atm with code (clutch15) so cost £110 which is pretty good and they do delivery as well if you need it Smile

I also replaced crank seal, driveshaft input seal, driveshaft seals, upper and lower fork bush's, gear oil, and gearbox mount whilst it was all apart. All these parts were gen peugeot parts, my clutch cable was fine so did not replace it.

Kris B on here did most the work on the gearbox, and as said, you will need some help getting the box back on after Smile

The service exchange is a lucky dip from what my dealers have said, 95% of the time it can be a new Valeo kit but sometimes it can be something else, Good thing with Pug one's if your in the trade club and it goes wrong they fix it including labour
