It's never too late to start a project thread!

Looks good. Out of interest, why did you run the pos and neg battery cables through the car? And what make's the cage?

They are speedline corse turinis I think, I get the models mixed up. They are quite expensive new, look on demon tweeks. It's a standard engine but its been rebuilt with uprated parts. Yh i can get a video, will wait till its been remapped cos its got a stutter right at the bottom of the revrange.

Looks like a nice project, the door bars look good, I have an Omp one and it mine are simply straight.

Do you have pics of the new dash, as I'm going to be doing the same with mine over the next few weeks.

The side bars on mine were straight to, I used a roll cage bender to bend them, gives more clearence for the seats. This is because the bars were in the way for the seats to be on runners, and for an mot a cars seats have got to be adjustable.

The dash is being made Friday, will have pics then for you.

Update, have been stripping the sound deadening from the floor of the foot wells, what a mission that has been, it comes of bud leaves bit on the floor still. It has took an age to get off but is all off now and the inside of the car sprayed gloss black, looks much better than the grey and black half arsed attempt peugeot made at it. LOL

And doing this today a delivery van pulled up with some goodies.

The new heater for the car, came with ducting and a vent for the dash to de-mist the window screen.

Quite a large up date: Ive been wanting a black rallye for sometime now and a bare shell came up near me for next to nothing. Its a bit tatty in places but that was reflected in the price. So over the past couple of days ive been getting everything swapped over from my 6 to the rallye.

I was hoping to get it fired up today but due to the naff weather plans have been holted. Early this week im going to ring dvla and get the plate transfered over and then its back to were i was on the project front.

Whilst the gearbox was off again i decided to fit a lightened flywheel and new clutch, which i really should have done wen the engine was out first time. Ive also fitted the cage, it was a bare shell so there was no interier to strip out, fitted the engine, suspension, boot lid, wheels etc. But like i said the weather has holted anymore progress.

Here a couple of pics of the rallye, ill get more pictures when its not so wet outside.

Heres the passengers side rear arch, just needs some paint.

And the lightened fly wheel.

After scraping the sound deadening from the floor of a second car, here is the outcome.

Looks much better than the grey coloured semi painted floor it came with out of the factory.

Good effort on the painting front, though i can see a few un-necessary brackets left in there. Whistle

Out of interest, how much primer, colour and lacquer did you go through for re-painting it?
I've just gone through 4 cans of 300ml primer and not even got one layer on the inside of my car. Doh

What clips can you see? The only ones I left in are the ones for the cables going to the rear lights.

I used tons of paint couldn't believe it. 8 cans of primer, 11 cans of black and 6 cans of laquer. Lots of laquer so it don't get scratched.

I'm going to put the seats in tommorrow and try the new flywheel out but I'm scared of Sad scratching the floor.

I was referring to the bracket which i think the rear seats would mount to in the middle, and the two nut things left on the studs (heavy little buggers LOL).
I've gone round my car and removed all the studs which are no longer needed, aswell as the brackets etc. Struggled a bit with the bracket which holds the front seatbelt winder mechanism in place though as i couldnt get the drill to the spot welds, so just chopped as much as i could away with my angle grinder. Cool

I was going to tackle it but i got the seat belt ones were a pain in the end so I gave up. They came off in the end, I used an angle drill.

Looking good. I was going to paint inside mine but might use a compressor as its cheaper but cans are less messy as you dont get so much overspray
