Driving down my local road and saw a dick dick bird walking into a side road 100 yards in front of me. I slowed and covered the horn button with my finger. It started to walk out whilst looking down the road(left) instead of up the road (right)Confused as I was driving towards it. Instant press of the horn and it stopped but my panic brought on the absThumbs down I managed to stop 5mm from its beak i n the end!
Then it flew off.

There is no way I would have missed it if the horn press had not been pre prepared!!

Always have your finger on the hornRoll eyes

Why the panic if you were already aware of a possible situation unfolding before you?

The sharp use of the brakes is deemed pointless IMO perhaps you should have slowed right down in preparation of the other drivers actions and avoided the incident all together Dunno
