Anyone got a guide on how to do this? The one in the FAQ is for a newer model with air con, mine's without.

Did have a look but couldn't see how the tensioning was done...

Anyone?

The tensioning is done via the 6mm allen head bolt on top of the tensioner.

You loosen the 2 x 13mm bolts on the tensioner, wind the allen bolt in to get the correct tension and then tighten up the 13mm bolts again. Yes

Right, now this is going to sound really stupid, but where's the tensioner? I only had a quick look with the wheel on, but I could just see a load of pulleys and it wasn't immediately clear which was the tensioner.

Look from the top, not the bottom.

Find the PAS pump, and go back towards the windscreen roughly 10cm.

You will see just above where the alternator bolts on, there is a 6mm allen bolt which is not screwed all the way home and it is facing downwards. This is the bolt that you tension it with, the tensioner is directly below this bolt. You will see it is held on with 2 x 13mm bolts, one is fixed and the other one is in an elongated slot. So you loosen those two, screw the allen bolt down to get the desired tension and then tighten the 13mm's again. Wink

Sounds like a win, anything else worth replacing other than the belt? GSF I assume?

Would only be on the sump if the car was supercharged?

If the PAS was situated on the sump and the car was supercharged, you would be using the 1560mm long belt and the auto-tensioner. Razz

My car's got so many superchargers it doesn't know what to do with them all. Alternator, PAS pump, air con pump, crankshaft and cam pulleys - all been replaced with superchargers. Awesome on the straights, nightmare in car parks or doing low-speed maneuvers.

Just spoke to GSF, they can get the belts for about £9 but can't get a tensioner at all, any ideas?

No problem. On a side note, the 13mm bolts are difficult to access and a ratchet spanner does make life easier if you have one. Thumbs up

You will still do it easy enough with a standard spanner, but as access is difficult it means that you can only turn the bolts a tiny amount before having to remove and reposition the spanner. Not hard, but could take a while to get them done up thats all. Smile

That's okay, spent all Sunday morning undoing the gear linkage bracket 10 degrees at a time, what a barrel of fun that was.

Right, if I spent £7 on a 13mm ratchet spanner I'm allowed to insert it into you if it's not the right size, okay?

Nope, still clearing out an office at the moment, now it's through the MOT it's less of an issue, but still on the cards. Might pop into Peugeot on the way home actually, see about a tensioner.
