I have looked at some HID conversion kits for my lights, just wondering if anyone has fitted any, and whether they are that effective? also any advice on what sort of ones to buy..cheers ________________________________________ A red rallye in progress! |

Make sure you look in the rule book on what's legal and what's not mate, new mot changes mean in will be quite easy for you to make your car unroadworthy. IIRC you need to have self levellers or something like that. And not all kits have them fitted. In answer to your question they are VERY effective, so effective in fact that they can dazzle, which is why they are looking into it. ________________________________________ 2005 Peugeot 206 GTI 1802008 BMW K1200R |

Im sure someone on here will pipe up with a bit more knowledge at some point, as i know for a while a few people had them, in the mean time however take a look at this. Aftermarket HID kits They look pretty cool ill admit, but i think they are just too damn bright! ________________________________________ 2005 Peugeot 206 GTI 1802008 BMW K1200R |

Anth ^ fitted them to his 6, we tested extensively to ensure they do not dazzle other road users. The difference is amazing, can actually see the road. ________________________________________ cress87 wrote: I'm stopped for speeding on a daily basis but now the police are aware that I live for the 306 they dare not interfere, just sit in their cars quaking as I drive past. |

Problem with the 'ol "whip them out for the MOT" routine is there is nothing more obvious to a copper than some guy in a beaten up old French car with ridiculously bright headlights. I reckon you'd be more likely to get away with only having three wheels than having HIDs. Hopefully they'll clamp down on the stupid aftermarket lights that burn peoples retinas whenever they're within a mile. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Only if the lenses are perfectly clean, which is why you now have to have headlight washers on them. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

There has been no change to the rules regarding HIDs needing washers/auto adjusters, they are simply enforcing them much more rigorously now. The standard 306 headlights are actually quite good - and can be improved legally with better bulbs still with legal wattage. Dubious quality blingy aftermarket HIDs are a sucker's purchase IMO. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

I've just ordered a set of 4300k's, which is what cars with HID's as standard run i believe, i ran 6000k's in my hdi and never had any bother with them, 306 crystals seem to project well, they give a good beam pattern with hid's in________________________________________ 1999 Gaystone blue '6,1990 sierra cosworth 4x2 |
