hi i have just got my first car about a month ago a gti6 and been having problems with it cutting out only on damp mornings so changed spark plugs today and noticed this lead was not connected to anything could this be causing me problems. if not any ideas on the issue thanks aaron

image not working its connected to the MAP lead also the map does not have the white part on it that is in the sensor location pic i found on this site what does the white bit on top of the map sensor do.

It's likely to be for the other type of map sensor used on some cars. It's not needed so don't worry. Clean your ICV. If it still doesn't work just change the fecking thing! They're a pain in the arse.

ok thanks is still likely to the icv even if it is only on cold damp moorings when i first start it up if it is anyone know a good place to get a replacement.

Not 100% but usually the Icv is the problem ? But it could be anything I guess
