Are these the type with holes for a key with pegs ? Or the type with grooves so only the correct matching socket fits ?

There is more than one? I wasnt aware peugeot were so diverse.

Either way ill clear this up. I need one of these

The item on the left obviously, not the bolt itself.

yes there would be more than one type, duurh, that'd be like everyone having the same front door key.

best get a garage to sort you out.

I thought it was rubbish.... I also binned one of my cameras and a lighter with it.... they were all in the same bag as my empty bottle of lucozade and a ginsters pasty wrapper Angry

In honesty though, i have only ever expirienced this type of key, it was the same on both my 306's and every other one i have seen. Surely you can buy them somewhere?

I would ask my local peugeot dealership but i dont think much of them, i phoned them to see if they could balance my cyclones, to no avail. After i explained what cyclones were they said that they havent got the right tools?!

Different sets have the pins in slightly different places but I've seen plenty of keys that fits other locking bolt sets.

I usually hit a socket over the middle if they are exactly the same as the one you linked to. Use one very slightly to small and the type that has loads of little bits to grab with not a 6 sided one and whack it on with a hammer. This is usually a tight enough fit to get them off as long as the bolts havnt been over tightened.

If you dont want to do that I would just pop into a local garage, most will get them off somehow without charging much.

Can you take a pic of the bolt? I have got them out before by hammering a socket onto them on a 406

I got stuck in the middle of no where once and got a flat, undid all the bolts only to find one locking wheel bolt but no key for it. ( was a new car to me 2 weeks before) undid the other 3 bolts completely and drove 10 metres slowly. stopped ... put the other 3 back in and the locking wheel nut was then finger loose....!!! lucky escape 300 miles from home.

mate did exactly the same in his car couple of years later and phoned me for advice, told him my story. he tried it and it worked again. his mrs told me month s later he drove about a mile before the wheel fell off and jammed under the wheel arch and put a huge dent in it, so be careful....
