Right, i've been searching for a while and can't find the thread I'm looking for?

Can anyone confirm to me which is the correct part number for xsara mist jets to use on a ph 3 bonnet? No. 6438 V8 ?

I know one type aims too low on either ph2 or ph3 bonnets and obviously want to avoid this.

There was a thread a while back that cleared this all up, and I can clearly remember a clicky by Thugpuggin that said something along the lines of "The thug does it again..." (random thing to remember)

but maybe TTL has killed it (which is useful Dry )

Cheers for the help

Dave

I think it's the v8 part number but I started a threat not long back about it and it's on there.

6438 C2 is for a xsara up to RP 8756

then 6438 V8 - SINCE RPO 08757

V8 is used on the C3, C3 II, C3 picasso, Saxo and Dispatch III, you'll get them from a pug only dealer as well as they are on the Expert 3.

or there's the standard late phase 3 306 ones, also used on the 307.

6438 H4 WDW WASHER JET XX- - BLACK - SINCE RPO 09799

Wow, er thanks Welsh but have overloaded me with numbers, what is RP 8756 and RPO 8757?

Bottom line, my 306 is a '99 (V plate) - so do I require 6438 H4 - since RPO 09799

(Does that "RPO" bit matter, or can I ring up a dealer with just 6438 H4, and they'll pick up the right part?)

Many thanks!!

Dave

prior to RP 9799 they were just twin jets, same as you'd find on a pug 205 from 91 on.

RP is the build date.

type RP number into google and you'll find a converter.

Cheers guys,

Edited: Cheers fella! I'll get some of those then

But just for clarity's sake:

6438 C2 - is from phase 1 xsara (Good or no good for 306 phase 2 or 3?)

6438 H4 - is for phase 306 and 307 (aim too low for phase 3 306)

6438 V8 - is from phase 2 xsara (Good for phase 3 306) [not suitable for phase 2 306??]

As far as I can guess, the P1 bonnet is shaped differently (ph3 have a bigger bulge)

So the V8 part number may not be suitable, and you may wish to try one of the other parts ?
Could be wrong of course!

I have the v8 ones on my phase 2 and they work fine. I had one set that were way too low (hot the wipers) but have no idea of the part number for those ones

Hmm not sure about these

Just fitted the V8 to my phase 3 and they seem to hit too low for my liking.

They hit just above the wipers, but the thing is the wipers have already moved past that point by the time the jets kick in and so the wipers get the wash on their return journey, sweeping it all to the bottom scuttle panel.

I have to keep the jets on for seemingly 3x longer than before to clear the screen properly?

Any suggestions?

Regards, Dave

Yeah, thats fine, but ill still be buying the 6438 V8 washer regardless? The ones that are supposed to be the correct fit for phase 3 cars, no?

Are any of the other part numbers applicable?

Or is there a way to delay the wipers from moving off straight away when pulling the stalk to activate the washers?

So what are you saying?
H4 are the ones I wanted?

or H4 aren't for me as they're for late 306's (mine is a V plate)

Or have I just set my expectations too high lol (and wasted £11)
