Just a couple of questions to those in the no! I have recently had the Missus write off my 6 and was wondering what sort of money would get me a low boost chargerd 6 and if they are high maintenance they are like could it be used daily with out issue Im seriously debating buying one if it's not going to be 10k or something rediculus I want something abit more than just a standard one Thanks.________________________________________ R.I.P my first 6 |

4-5k buys a tidy one, fuel consumption is about 10-30% worse, (mainly because the temptation to use the extra power is there) coupled to the fact that you can only fill with high octane juice. Insurance is hiked a bit, a lot if you're young or have a chequered history. And finally, you have all the usual maintenance gremlins, icv, cam belt, heater matrix, rear beam etc that you can expect from a standard 6/Rallye. If you are handy with the spanners, or have extra cash while running a standard one, then make the jump. If the answer isn't yes to one or both of those questions avoid.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area. anth wrote: Find a couple of extra grand and buy the one pete rallye is selling if i was a few years older i'd have that one without a doubt, being Rich's car its going to be perfectly maintained and an absolute gem of a car, no expense spared. and has legend status. whoever gets it will be very lucky. as for the OPs question. yes they can be a daily driver, mine will be and i have no concerns over maintenance or costs over how it is with the standard car, as Daveyboy said parts will always go wrong on a 6 whether its standard or a 450bhp animal. but if you look at the ones already done you will see how reliable they are, Rich designed it with reliability in mind. you just need deep pockets if your going to go down that route, and be aware that modified cars are never worth what you payed out on them when you come to sell ________________________________________ supercharged China gti6 - Thu 16th Sep 1999 - sold2010 megane rs250 |

Russ has used his low boost Rallye for few years no problems, not to sore on juice and no bad for him to insure, only thing that us more expensive is the oil and charger oil/filter that I can think off, just get a high boost as you will be bored before long!!________________________________________ In my garage just now2003 BMW M3 & 2009 L200 Raging Bull & Audi Q5 S Line AX stock rod & Saxo Stock rod Sold the bike an charged rallye an bought a caravan, midlife crisis or what! |
