Is there an easy fix without buying an unlocked ECU if it this?

If it is this then you don't need anything more than a new fuse...

Have you tried re-programming your key? Just a guess really- I think there is an FAQ on how to do it

The fact that the central locking is not working ALONGSIDE the car not starting tells me this isn't ECU related. I think its a simple fault.

If the ECU had gone bad, everything else electrical would still work, you just wouldn't have a running engine, but that isn't the case. Wink

Have a good detailed check of all the fuses in the daylight, preferably by electrically checking them and then get back to us.

I am fairly confident this issue should be resolved with a bit more checking around. Yes

Is there a red button at the rear right (as you look at it) in the engine bay? If so depress that. Should do the trick Thumbs up

No but this happened with another one I had and didn't matter which one I used. I think it is the immobiliser again!! Checked the live to the fuel relay and it drops out after about 5 secs same as before!

Does indeed sound like the immobiliser won't unlock on the ECU. Sad

Unlocked ECU may be the way to go now. It could of course be that the transponder aerial (the part which surrounds the ignition barrel) has gone bad, therefore it is not picking up the signal from the chip which sits within the key fob...

Hi again, still can't lock the car!! Fob doesn't work and the ignition barrel has been changed so the blade doesn't work in the door locks. Is there any way I can get the remote fob working again without changing everything? Any ideas?
