I can do you a spray tan if you want? Might not be the best but al give it a shot. By the looks of the amount of you have to put in i would say £115 is a fair proce buy then again only you know how much the products needed to make these are and for the effort going in to them i would want to make abit extra cash in on top if it was me Big grin

LOL a Spray tan??? What's this
Devils work you speak of?
If I do them I'll work out cost of everything required to make the carbon masks
Plus the hours put in to make them,

There a lot harder than I even thought!
It's like doing body work im finding it very novel at the moment
But can see it getting very tedious after a few sets!
I'm about half done on the other side and I have to say going a lot better!
Big grin

Hey Alan,

It wouldn't be beyond me to do them but I'd need
A piece of glass big enough to lay out the carbon onto
Then it would just be a case of trimming to fit! Wink

Just out of interest then what would people pay to have me do these?
Bearing in mind I can just pull them apart and paint them black for £40 there abouts

Headlights £30-£60 Delivered/sourced!
Carbon fibre est £10-£15
Sprey glue est £2.00
Resin probably about £5
Sand paper £2.00
Paint brushes £6.00
About 6+ hours work
Polishing compound/laqur £3-£5

These are estimates of what I recon it costs me to make a set!

To be honest you can't beat the real deal!
I'd be concerned that the heat from the bulbs and the heat at the height of summer would bubble the vinal

But working with the real CF is hard work and everytime I do something there's a new issue to deal with LOL
I think I'm going to try a different kind of resin Crazy

Your right, real carbon is bestThumbs up

But alot of work to do rightThumbs down

I doubt very much you would be able to tell the difference looking through the headlight lense if it was real carbon or a very good VinylWink

I don't think the heat would be a problemSmile

I doubt carbon vinyl would stand the heat inside a headlamp.

You using a proper filter mask when sanding this stuff down?
It's not good for you apparently mate, so make sure your wearing the proper breathing equipment.

+1

It's proper nasty stuff.

They go mental at work if you're not wearing the proper masks, which is understandable.

The stuff I've been using is only toxic if you consume it! And gives off no fumes As far as I can tell,.. When I sand I do it wet I hate dust at the best of times!

Unlike fiber glass that has had me smacked off my tits before now!
That was with a half decent mask working in a garage doorway (open!)
I'm going to try another resin though it's just too unpredictable! Like I said before every time I use it I encounter another problem! Dry
