I'm going to be changing my induction setup in the coming weeks, with cold fed system fitted directly onto the throttle body.

Can anyone tell me what the additional little pipe (white arrow) is for and what it connects to (red arrow)? This will obviously be gone if i simply fasten a 90deg elbow onto end. Will it be a problem? Whats its function?

Any suggestions? (without saying keep the existing setup...)

Here's how mine is setup......

The filter I used wasn't exactly mini though, still does the job and that's all that matters!

I think that's the same filter that I have Stu, bigger than expected when it arrived!

Thanks.
I think I'm more seduced by using the existing intake elbow though. Seems to tick all the boxes for me.

Just to tag another couple of questions on the end of this topic,

Q1. If I remove the top radiator hose for easy access, am I going to invite a load of air into the system or will it just be alright?

Q2. I'm sure I've read that people have had to relocate horns and something else from the general area where pipework will be routed. Can anyone give more details on that or is this something a rallye user need not worry about?

You should be able to do it without removing the rad house, more hassle than it's worth taking it off IMO.

I didn't need to do anything to the horns on mine, depends how you want to route the pipework though I suppose.

Did you have any interference with the arch liner?

No

I just moved it out the way so I could see what I was doing a bit better during installation, but apart from that it was not affected at all.

I've modified the snorkel set-up on mine to make it a cold air feed, rather than it sucking hot air from behind the grilleWink

Removed resonators from airbox and blanked off the hole, and fitted a Ram-Air induction filter inside the standard air boxThumbs up

Works a treatBig grin

I'd bet money the standard snorkel is more efficient. Good idea about putting a cone filter in the airbox though, I miss the noise mine made.

I'm guessing you have other engine mods to get 180bhp though?

The standard snorkel is a ram air it just picks the air up from about 3 inches lower down than your modded one does. Can't imagine it would be picking up warm air at all considering it is well in front of the rad...

Magnex de-cat and system, and before you say anything there was a few people off here there when it made that power!Razz

The standard snorkel is not ram airLOL

How can it be when its facing down and there is no holes in the grille/bumper for air to go into it???????No
