Hi here is my second 306 bought it last week 306 td tidy shell and good price i was thinking of fitting a v6 in my 6 but found this and decided to use this and keep the 6 standard,i looked around at the v6 conversions but lost interest in that idea and ended up buying a 2.0 8v turbo from a 406 i know there not the best motors but for the price of the car and motor should be a tidy weeked toy for less than 1k.
Any info on the turbo conversion would be much appreciated.

have a search, there are a couple posts regarding the 8v turbo, i read through them not that long ago. maybe find some info you will need,

what sort of power are they standard?? i think you can get them up to 220bhp without spending too much

I ran a bar of boost for 240hp. but i ran a charge cooler. bit of a marmite engine but i like marmit. hardest bit is the wiring. apart from that an easy conversion imo

The 6 engine will make the 8v turbo engine look silly in std trim, up the boost slightly and you will see around 200bhp, but it's like driving a Derv with the small turbo and lack of a power band even with after-market management fitted,
Having driven pretty much every Pug engine going I hate to say this is by far the worst of the lot

Nice thread. I started putting one of these engines in one of my gti6s then got bored and sold it all and broke the car? LOL you got anything done to the engine. Get a 1.9 205 gti cam fitted and an evo intercooler and you can up the boost to around 20psi then you should be pushing around 220bhp Big grin

Bit of an update stripped the head down to find two bent valves and knackerd oil seals every valve having alot of build up on them and the valve seats which solves the cylinder down on compression, ordered four new inlet valves cleaned head and ports up and ground the valves back it just waiting on a new head set to be delivered which have been a right pain trying to source, hopefully have it for the weekend and get the engine built back up and trial fitted,
Then decide what turbo and manifold set up to go for.
