Hi guys.

Collected my clones today from the powder coaters and went to get them tyred up and balanced. Anyway the guys at STS tyre pros done their thing and the service was good.

I took the car for a quick spin to check the balance of the wheels and when i reached the desired speed the steering wheel was shaking like f*ck so i took it back to be told " sorry about the balancing issue sir, due to the wheels being powder coated it has changed the weight of the wheels "

I assume they were talking complete bollox Dunno

Anyway i called the boss man and he redone the job perfectly. Why are clones so hard to balance Crazy

LOL

Complete and utter tosh

Going on that advice then, in future you are best off stripping all the paint off your alloys and taking them in to be balanced Laugh my ass off

Everyone seems to have one of these

But with out one of these....

Its a useless pile of cow excrement.

Its the 65mm centre piece that centres the wheels. Dont let any tyre fitter tell you otherwise. Fact of the matter is 98% of garages have the spider (FRU) but dont have any centre adapters to use with it.

"Oh they all do that sir".

It is very common in my experience that instead of fronting up and saying "sorry about that we'll fix it", there is normally an attempt to tell some outlandish story about why the situation occurred, with a large dash of attitude and no attempt to disguise the thinking that they can tell the punter whatever and be believed, because the punter clearly has a lower IQ than the mechanic.

It is so common that I can't help but ask is this actually taught on mechanic courses, or is it part of the code of practice?
