are the gti6 crank pulley the same as the 2l 8v turbo one??

as you all know the harmonic pulleys are crap and the outer spins, i have a brand new 2l 8v turbo crank pulley to use to time up the motor providing its good!

I think they are the same, but the offset, diameter and number of grooves might be different, ask Miles as I think he knows them.

Diferent offset to accomodate the differnt belt width, but the mark will be the same....all pistons level with 1 and 4 rising in the direction of rotation if you ever want to check the accuracy of a pulley!

also when timing the gti6 motor with the stock adjustable cam pulleys, how do you set the pulleys?? are they set the same?? or fully advanced or retarded??

how much to set the timing lol for a turboed motor??

neither, you pin the bottom, pin the top, swing the pulleys forwards the fit the belt, tension the belt then tighten the bolt/s on the pulleys.

oh i see the cams are hels when you tension the belt so the timing cant slip??
