Just to clear this up, the gti6 is still in my hands, it never ended up going to china, and to be honest i was glad because i never really wanted to let it go. Its been off the road a few months now and sits in the corner of my showroom, and i'm slowly turning it into a track only car, and the reason the price is high is i don't really want to sell it. But it gets people to my website. I do keep meaning to post some progress pics on here but i'm always put off by peoples attitude to the car, to myself and often to joker. I was planning on coming to fcs but i'm at moto gp that weekend, but if there's any other events ill try attend and you can see im just another petrolhead and 306 lover.Graham ________________________________________ 416.4bhp powered astor beast |

bigbadbowen wrote: Need some proper band bolt things and have the pipe work flared out or what ever it's called ? This will help, yes. However, Andy has an identical setup to me and Rich's car and it doesn't cause a problem on ours. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

2000 rpm is an over exaggeration but they have blown off atleast 7 times in 2000 miles and the first 1000 miles i was taking it easy and it blew off once. now ive thought about it im a bit p*ssed off about it as ive got to redo it all again, and ive allready done a good job of it once, i dont really have the time to do it as id have to take days off work and organise that with a welder to be ready for me, ive bought the bits to redo it but times an issue and when the weekend comes up im pretty tired out and theres no welders around at weekend. it blows off because there is no beaded ends on and the angles that the pipes meet each other doesnt line up perfect, the boost comes in earlyer on mine and when the restrictors bored out it will have a slight bit more boost also. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

I know it comes in a bit earlier, but I'm around the 1.9bar at 8,000rpm and its still fine then. I have beaded ends on my pipework (I think from memory) but also my pipework lines up straight. How come yours isn't straight? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

ive bought all the t bolts now but i cant fit them on the intercooler because my previous pipework was cut off this and the welds havnt been filed down so stick out and there isnt the width left to use a t bolt, its not popping off here though atleast.ive got to cut all the pipework up and get the beaded ends fitted i have bought again, and remove the charger to have the outlet pipe angle changed as its too close to the p/s pump and also fit a beaded end on this. ive then got some bellow hoses to take more movement out. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

It should deffo line up straight, you're fighting a losing battle there straight away...As for the rad, I'm not sure. Mine is a replacement Nissens one, never bothered measuring it's thickness when I put it in, although it did look an identical size to the original, so I guess it was. I don't suffer with cooling problems on track provided you take the front grill out, and have a large oil cooler. Then its fine. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

yours will be 1.25 then.my 1.25 nissens one was swapped for one with the outlet on the p/s, easier to route the boost pipe i suppose but its only a 1" core, i dont understand why if you double the power output you would use a rad with less capacity. i managed to do the pipework perfect before with the gti6 rad and im no engineer and that was the first time i had done anything like that. my charger is 10mm longer than yours i think, maybe that made that pipe get in the way of the outlet, but it could be worked around. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |
