Hi, Does anyone know where I put the "orange coloured" power cable approx 5mm in diameter, that runs from the Amplifier to the headunit, I think it switches the Amp on when the headunit powers up.
I can see where it goes in my Sony head unit its connected to the blue/white wire, but my pioneer headunit (DEH-P9600mp) does not have a blue/white wire, only a "wired remote input" 3.5mm jack, could this be where it plugs into ???? I'm Confused Sad Sad

I assume you have a power line from the car battery t the amp ? If not then that's what that wire is for ? The remote turn on is usually a very thin wire (blue) from the head unit with a label showing remote on it ?

DO NOT WIRE THE AMP FROM ANY OTHER POWER SOURCE OTHER THAN THE CAR BATTERY AND ALWAYS USE AN IN LINE FUSE Thumbs up

What other wires do you have? As normally its

Red-live (battery to amp)
Brown-earth (amp to earthing point)
Blue (thin)-remote (head unit to amp)
Red & white rca cable. (head unit to amp).

I don't think so bud ? The remote turn on is usually a thin wire get a multimeter on the wires from the head unit and find the the 12v signal wire when the head unit is turned on ?

Maybe a pic of what has been wired where would help ?

Plug it in and play. If you have fuses in the amp and stereo nothing should blow. But yeah, normally the remote is a thin blue wire. Can you post pictures of all the wires on the head unit?

Is that plug not for some sort of steering column controller for the headunit?

just spoken to my Auto Electrician who installed my sound system, and that black remote lead is not for my orange amplifier cable, so I'm not gonna risk damaging my I.C.E., I'm taking it to him to sort out.
Thanks for everyones in put
