I've searched and had a look in FAQs (found bumper removal and rad replacement ones - very good), but can't find how to remove the 4 black plug things that hold the top grille to the slam panel.

Also, how do I disconnect the bonnet release cable so I can remove the slam panel for repainting. Maybe it is a lot simpler than I think so doesn't need a FAQ!

Having had to buy more wheel arch fir tree things to replace broken ones, before I apply brute force I thought I'd ask on here.

I'm planning the next part of my refurb, which is to take bumper, grille, slam panel off and de-rust front end and replace rotten rad at the same time.

Thanks

To take out the 4 black plug things, you first pull up just the top circle of plastic, that pulls a pin of plastic out from the core, which then means the rest just pulls out easily.

If that makes sense.

I killed 2 of mine before I worked it out!

The grill clips should have a slit on the top which you can get a flat head screwdriver in to unscrew them, they pop out when the centre is high enough to allow the fins to slide through the hole.

Perfect, saved me doing the same, thanks.

Anyone know about how to disconnect the bonnet release cable from the slam panel?

If your going to remove the under light trims
The can be a bas**rd to remove without breaking the
Clips on the grille I'd just leave them on if possible but be careful with where you store it
Or if you want to seperated them then sorta twist towards you while pulling on the grille but pushing on the trim
And don't worry about the trim clips to the wing there nearly impossible to get off without breaking Wink
