What's peoples thoughts on moving a car without tax (ran out last month) so i think its just expired not actually SORN'ed yet.

Will be MOT'd and ill get insured for the day but I don't fancy spending £120 taxing it to then have to declare it SORN and claim it back when I get home because of the stupid new insurance laws.

I didn't realise you still had it. Do you still have the 205?

No 205 went a while ago, chose to keep the 6 over it.

Looks like the way to go is to insure it earlier than I intended and drive it then. I didn't realise you could also return from the MOT test after a fail.

I drove my SORN'd 350Z for MoT yesterday, how else are you supposed to get it there? Book an MoT, drive it there, cancel MoT, job done Big grin

It will need to be insured though which is where the ole trade policy comes in pretty handy Big grin

You could have an MOT every day of the year if you wanted. You could probably have 2 if you liked!

Might be going back on the road now anyway! Suggested my mate run it for a while, so long as he picks up all the costs for it obviously, so hes gonna run it for 6 months or so. Still need to get it to his gaff though so will be day insuring and booking for an MOT. Glad someones gonna be using it though rather then it sat round doing nowt! When I get it back it'll obviously still have MOT left so I may be tempted to insure it myself again for a giggle, but will see. Spending money on my house at mo so weekend toy is last thing to spend money on lol

Day insure it

Book at MOT that's near your place.

Pull into your new place - cancel MOT test.

Some police people are always in a shit mood - what's a day insurance price to it being seized/points blah blah

This

Only about £20 for a days insurance. I'm sure you won't even see a copper but for that small cost you won't get any points and its a bit of piece of mind. You can rent a trailer for £25 a day too!
