I changed the tailgate on my Rallye recently and the original that was removed was a phase 3 item with holes in the glass to bolt the spoiler on.

The replacement, Although its phase 3 (no black strip on the bottom) doesn't have the holes in the glass to bolt the spoiler on.

What I was intending to do was to grind the studs on the phase 3 spoiler down so it would fit flush against the glass and use some sort of adhesive, tigerseal or similar to attach the phase 3 spoiler.

My question is what's the best adhesive to use for bonding plastic to glass and do you think adhesive on its own will be enough to hold it?!

Thanks
Martin

Okey doke, Thanks for that. Was just a bit dubious about the weight of the spoiler, dont want it flying off and levelling someone!!!

Maybe i'm getting confused with spolers then! Definitely a phase 3 hatch, the original was and so is this one but the replacement doesnt have the holes through the glass like the original!

The original spoiler was the thinner one with studs on the underside and the one that came with the replacement is almost double the width that secures to the frame via torx bolts!

Not sure which spoiler is which now!!
