Unfortunatley I had a premature cambelt failure (third failure in my cars life), unfortunately for me I was driving the car rather than the previous two times when it was the fault of a garage.

The long term plan is to rebuild the engine for motorsport activities but I need to get the car running again so I'd ideally like a working engine, non-tapper.

Can anybody help?

Hi there,

I've got a Phase 1 GTI6 that I'm just about to sell - engine was rebuilt due to a head-gasket, so it's really good (imho).
It's currently sitting on 150,000, but the "new" engine has done about 20,000......

Would be looking at around £500 for the ENTIRE CAR.

Might be something of interest to you.....
