While putting the cyclone back on my car this week i was tightening up the bolt and it just went like butter! Now its left half the bolt screwed into the hub. What is the solution to this?

Thanks, Tom

if you can get the wheel off, which id imagine you can

either get a decent pair of vice grips on to it

or if there is only a small bit of broken bolt sticking out you could get someone/garage to weld a bolt onto it and attempt to remove it then

You willn need to try to drill it out or buy a new hub.

I've had this, Take off the disc and there should be enough stud to get a grips on it.

I bought a 306 a while back and someone had previously used exhaust paste to stick the bolt heads back into the wheel. 2 studs on the 1 wheel!

It is quite worrying that there are people out there that will carry out this sort of behaviour! Crazy

Just get a snap on stud extraction set. Drill hole, put in extractor, turn, wind stud out.

This is a good method provided the stud extractor doesn't snap whilst in use. As they are hardened it is very difficult to try and drill them out if that happens. Sad

agreed, I would only use an extractor as a total last resort, best bet is to try and drill slowly with a very sharp bit and plenty of lube.

then wallop a decent sized torx bit in and wind it out.

that's if you can't just tap it round with a chisel then get some grips on it.

If you can get it to a garage, have them weld a nut on the end of it and try it that way. The heat will help loosen things up too

Did this to mine the first tyre change I did, but in my case, it was due to the shit locking nut key being made of cheese

if you are a member of the aa get him round as he will have the extractor kit, been a member of the aa for donkeys years and they were only too pleased to help. did not even have to get out of the chair. still paying 240 a year for a years membership so it made sense as i had overtightened all my wheel nuts and f*cked the locking wheel nuts. did not know my own strength despite changing tyres for the first year of my life after i left school! it would appear though that scooby gt wheels have a oversized counter sink on them though and the nuts just bury themselves in them if you over tighten them! lesson learned

Seriously, S/O easy outs. The best £50 you'll ever spend. As long as you've got 3-4mm sticking out you'll have the bugger out. Thumbs up

if there's that much sticking out I doubt you will need any tools.
