No no, i'm not talking about 2 chavvy w*nkers pumpin' 110dB from their fart cans racing up a 100metre stretch outside Hams Hall..

So there i am bored on Sunday night, here in sunny W!tbank, and think f*ck it i'll go for a drive and burn some company juice. Driving along minding my own business I pull up behind a rather tasty red C63 AMG saloon (about £85,000 here), quad pipes shining away. So busy am I admiring this merc in front of me (i'm buying a W212 E350CDi next), it took me a second to realise there was a E30 BMW sat next to it, revving the balls off the engine and merrily dumping away, shooting petrol vapour plumes from the twin pipes in the process. Attention momentarily turned to the BMW, pondering "This w*nker's not seriously going to have a crack at this merc is he?" I then realise there's a droptop S4 next to him, and the penny dropped - i'd stumbled across W!tbank's street racing circuit completely by accident. Oh this is going to be fun! Laugh

I then realised how fast and the furious the whole situation looked as i noticed the huge crowds down the left, middle and right hand sides of the carriageway. The lights went red for the crossway traffic and the dash in my Corsa started to vibrate with the aural pleasure of the V8s getting ready to dance before the merc, BM and Audi all took off like stabbed rats, and had left me well and truly in their collective tyre smoke before my plain furious 1.4 had even crossed the white line. Laugh

Incidentally, what was your money on?

Anyone?

Well, i got it wrong - i guessed merc...

The E30! Squirming all over the middle lane it won by a half car length over the merc!

As I figured I stood little chance of wowing the lines of punani standing on the side of the road in hertz's finest I parked up in Pick and Pay's car park and watched instead. There was some very tasty tackle doing the arrow straight half mile or so and back, reaching some fairly tremendous speeds along the way (as you'd expect from that sort of tackle with no holds barred - the Merc sounded GLORIOUS).

In other runs there was a nice mk1 escort dumping away merrily, although I suspect in this neck of the woods it's rotary powered rather than YB powered as it would be at home. Whatever it was in the way it was rapid, but was outshone by a mint little Nissan 1400 Pick-up that was lighting up the tyres in 4th as he came past me.

All in it was a bloody good laugh, with some quality machines and plenty of opportunities to go and stick your paws in people's engine bays! Even more amusingly, when the cops turned up in the middle of the evening, they drove through the car park, presumably collecting a fistful of rands in bribes, then promptly drove up the dual carraigeway, having two racers in VTEC Civics blitz past them at 120dB. Laugh

Oh well, that was my sunday night! I know where i'm going this Sunday! gonna see what's in that old Ford! Thumbs up

As i wasn't expecting anything I only had my crappy SA nokia with me, not even my good nokia from the UK office - I took some vids but you can barely see anything the quality is so poor!

I'll have to pinch the office camera and take some pics, i presume it's on every week!

Would've killed to have my Cerb with me, i'd have shown them a fruity V8. Wouldn't half have minded having the Rallye there tbh!

Sounds good, much better then the Reading 'scene' I accidently stumbled across where there were a few fake 'fast and the furious' cars that had been treated to Halfords special spoilers etc, all gathared up under a bridge in the middle of a roundabout.

Sounds a lot better than the A38 birmingham meet, that is just chav central with the odd properly tuned motor. I chanced upon that coming home one sunday evening, literally hundreds of chav wagons parked up and ranting up and down the a38 - and therre was mabs handing out fliers LOL

Funny thing is I'm not even joking LOL Perfect bit of free advertising though, captive audience who are already interested in tuning.

True I suppose. I have just got visions of all these Barryboys standing around and Mabz wandering around wondering if anyone wants their ECU remapped! LOL

I meant to update this week before last, however I forgot to take my phone with me so stood no chance of recording anything respectable. It was actually quite a poor turnout and not a great deal happened.

However last Sunday saw me standing here:

Now please note, i'm no cameraman, the street lighting is w*nk and it's all recorded on a phone. If you don't like it don't b*tch!

This is an example of what happens! I can't remember what was racing but spot the Nissan pickup with no lights on lol.

This week seemed to be much better on the whole, bit of a mishmash of cars though! The BMW from the first week was back, which turned out to be sporting a Mazda rotary lump, rather surprised by that but as a lump it's tiny!

The 1400 Nissan bakkie (pick-up to you and me) was back this week lighting up the tarmac, so when he was showing off the hardware in the car park I went for a look. It turned out to be SR20DET powered, running quite a sizeable turbo (looked like a GT28RS), I would guess it made it's way from a Silvia since i've seen no Pulsars here. Wasn't running the usual Silvia T28 that we used to love on Rovers I don't think.

Every week there is an immaculate Mk2 Opel Kadett (aka Vauxhall Astra) GTE which is turbo'd and RAPID, although he never pops his bonnet so not sure what he's running.

GTE - love the reg - very very clean!!

This week there was even a Bentley Continental GT at one point, but I have a feeling he was obliging during a coincidental drive past. Other more notable vehicles included an R34 Skyline (the nice blue one), a couple of Nissan 350Zs (one chavvy, one standard), An E36 M3 turbo (or replica, hard to say), another C63 AMG coupe which the young lad driving had CLEARLY borrowed from his mum (inc the private reg 'Bella' lol), a Chevy Lumina pick up (Aka a Holden HSV Maloo Ute - 400+ BHP but Auto ftl) and a couple of Imprezas.

Bella:

The E36 did a massive burnout in the car park, not sure how he didn't stack it but i reckon he ate half a set of tyres in 15 seconds flat! the chatter was amusing as it was limiting though.

burnout yo!

Some videos, but all off my Nokia so don't expect much!
Nissan 1400 vs Rotary e30
Mk4 GTi vs GTE vs e36 turbo plus bonus C63 AMG (listen at 6 secs for the V8 redlining!) Love
No idea, can't remember

and last but not least... here's my beast! Eastern Cape yo!

Oh well, that passed a few minutes.
