Hi,

I am getting some vibration under braking so I want to change all round. Wondering if anyone had some discs and pads lying around - happy to use part used as long as there is a bit of life still in them

Cheers!

Buy new then. You may find exactly the same problems with a used set.

Very good point! Thanks - I am just debating whether I should go cheap and they are all the same or buy mid-range discs and pads. I am on a student budget at the moment!

GSF used to do brembo, but no longer. The premium brand they use now is a brand called 'Bendix' which are supposedly good. Google them. You wouldnt want to be using the lower budget branded discs or pads on a 6 really imo. So go Bendix or go with a different motor factor for an alternative.

I used Pagid from ECP which i dont think are bad but i think mine warped quickly after installation as i had a slider pin loosely fitted Doh

Since tightening that up the shaking has dramatically reduced but is still there....maybe a result of the disc locating screws rounding off so disc is loose slightly because of that but thats my next port of call before new discs again

If your brake disc is loose then I suggest you tighten up your wheel bolts before your wheel falls off...

you can leave those screws off totally, it wont cause this, however if the disc does wobble, do as suggested above and tighten up your wheel bolts LOL

I thought that too but was advised it would still be preferable to not having them in, to be fair its a pain when said disc moves when you take the wheel off so for that reason alone i will get them replaced.

Just seems strange that the car ONLY judders under braking now from 70mph down to 40mph then wont judder atall from 40mph to stationary since the sliding pin was tightened up. Before it was tightened it would judder at all speeds

Vibrating from 70 to 40 under breaking is shagged discs or you didn't clean the hubs up properly making the disc not seat correctly thus not running true

I always sand the disc surface on the hub as its generally got rust on it always a good idea to grease the sliders as well to ensure they are not sticking. A sticky slider will over heat the disc and warp it Thumbs up

I have also found new discs and pads on the front with old sh1te on the back upsets the brake balance? Might just be me but a dam good clean and grease all round with new discs and pads Is just the ticket Yes
