Hey. I've got a 98 xsi16v. I've been looking for a good gti-6 engine to put into it. So far I've picked up inlet and exhaust manifolds,ecu,t/b etc but haven't been able to get a decent '6 engine in Ireland. Today I found a gti180 engine in northern Ireland for £400. I'm wondering if it's worth buying or am I better waiting for a good '6? |

gti 180 engines are multiplexed so it will be a pig to wire up. Fun engines though, I preferred it to my current standard gti-6 engine... lol. ________________________________________ '13 208 Gti Bianca White, '99 Bianca 306 Rallye, '92 309 Goodwood GTi 5dr, '92 Miami Blue 309 GTi 3dr. |

I have a 180 lump in my 205 and it is a great engine, you will need aftermarket management though so will be a bit pricey, im running an omex 710 ecu and it made 195bhp on the rollers with no engine mods apart from custom exhaust, k&n and fuel pressure valve________________________________________ 205 mi16405 Mi16x4 restoration project 406 v6 saloon track car project/daily driver 508 Hdi |

Thanks for the info especially sixygti2 I think I'll keep looking for a gti-6 engine as i don't want the expense of an aftermarket ecu. I'll need d cash to finish my 205.. |
