The rubber ones are fine to spray as well.
I did my own a few years back and it came out fine and was on the car for a couple of years and did not flake or peel.
I got it redone by a body shop because the colour match was not perfect and it has been fine as well
If you do it yourself, make sure to use plastic primer to allow for some movement.
Also, the spoiler has probably had back to black or other form of silcone on it so give it a really realy good clean first with soapy water/degreaser/white spirit to get a nice clean surface so the paint will stick in the long run
