Just a heads up to the North West owners on here, it is on today and tomorrow and is usually a good day out.

I'll be there tomorrow, must remember to charge the camera tonight.

Thumbs up

Ahh right, just when you said you would pop down I thought you were closer to my end (Kendal area). Will keep an eye out for a 306 parked near the rally.

OK, a quick report.

The first two stages (ran at the same time) at Fleetwood were great, lots of action and some great cars.

The next two stages at Fleetwood were after a 30min break, however the little bit of rain we had froze solid and left the stage with zero grip, so ended up being a parade lap, with a few Mk2 Escort boys doing some donuts.

I watched about half of the stages on the front in Blackpool, which were running late. However the rain was getting too much so left.

Took ages to get home as although Blackpool had some snow, further north got hit hard, and roads leading to my house were closed.

I didnt get many photos, however I got lots of videos so will share when I have edited them together.

I was out in car 70 in this, my first and last time navigating. We were running dead last I think until we stopped in the middle of Weeton on stage 19 when the car cut out just before the chicane. At least the car was still in one piece unlike some of the others. The weather was unbelievable at times, how the marshals and spectators stood outside in that all day I will never know.

Ahh yeah, loved that. I was stood on the wall at the split on the first stage. You were, erm, taking it steady a bit around that corner.

We got caught out by the weather so had to take it easy due to being on the wrong tyres. Not the lightest car in the world and was very difficult to stop in those conditions.

Loved the video, that Mk2 was superb! Watched very similar escorts on the Roger Albert Clark Rally a few months ago....

The sheer pickup in 2nd and 3rd gear in those things is IMMENSE! I giggle a bit when i hear them screaming away from slow corners.....can't wait til it's back on Motors TV again!

I was there Friday eve, was dry but absolutely freezing! Didn't help having to wait around for an hour before things properly kicked off. Was by the double hairpin, so there were a few spins and 3 point turns (crap handbrake perhaps? Razz) Plus an escort cosworth left braking too late for a chicane and sent a barrel flying down the road and dislodged its light pod in the process. Next run it was flapping about all over the place LOL

Nice video , looks confusing with cars going all over the place but good for spectators, liking that mk2 escort pushing the skoda over to be first into that single track section LOL

Do you know what kind of speeds they get upto on that single track link road between the car parks?

It must of been confusing because the amount of cars that forgot to turn instead of going straight on was comical.

No idea what the speeds were between the two car parks, fast? lol
