I have used the OE clutch on 260bhp when I was low boost and 380bhp when I was high boost, it was fine. Yes

Whatever you do dont use an LUK one I have seen 2 fail in as many months, the most recent one on a 307 HDI Smashed through the bellhousing/diff housing Crazy

No none dmf, its was a hdi 90, it was the release bearing that went on this one and chewed up the pressue plate. The other one was on an escort van 1.8 diesel and the friction plate snapped in half. Both were not even half way worn on the friction material. I would never use an LUK clutch ever again.

Agree with Pugjim, I too have seen awful damage caused by the failure of a few LUK clutch kits. I would also advise to stay well away.

Is the cover plate just the standard spec item?

I've read 4 paddle can be a bit harsh, very on/off, and 6 paddle are slightly more civilised.

How do you find it?

Clen I find my paddle clutch a bit harsh, it's ok with some revs and easily liveable with, but if for example it's late at night, I try and be quite and not rev it and it doesn't like it, it shakes/vibrates the car then.
but when your going for it it's sweet as.

It's not too bad, as Andy says to try and move the car around especially when the engine is cold can be quite difficult, but once moving its perfectly fine.

Mine is a little less harsh due to the fact I chose the friction plate which had the damper springs in the middle of the plate, rather than the completely solid version. The Sachs cover plate is just a standard item mate. Yes
