Having a bit of a problem with the water temp. When the car is on the road, the water temp never gets above 70/75C. In traffic, it climbs way up to 100ish then fan kicks in and temp falls down as it should.

I unplugged the brown sensor on the thermo. housing, fans kicked in, so that must be fine. Replaced the blue and green sensors on the thermostat housing, as well as the thermostat. I noticed the rubber seal on the old thermostat was all cracked and corroded, I thought that would have been the problem.

But, it's still no better with replacement sensors, thermostat and seal. Never gets above 75C. I've blead the radiator lots of times so I'm pretty sure it's not an air lock.

Any ideas? Dunno

Mine only gets to 80°c until traffic where it'll go to 97°c then back down once the fans kick in. sounds to me like yours if working okay.

Hmm. So what temperature should it sit at?

I've never had any overheating problems or anything, I just didn't think it was normal for temp to sit at 70C?

Sounds to me like the thermostat is jammed open. I know you said you have replaced this, but I have seen this before and makes the '6's run around 70C...

Stan.
