hi ive not been on for long long time but ive jus brought a P reg phase 1 gti6 for not alot money with no tax or mot i brought the car to break to be honest, but it seems a shame its not in the best of condintion the front bumper seems like its dropped the trim under the headlights are missing and the drivers door just dont look right the wind caught hold of it apperently. I think the power steering pump is making one hell of noise and the the car stays on when you take the key out the ignition and its got a few clunks here and there and maybe a few other bits wrong with her so i dont no what to do......... is it worth breaking? tyring to fix it up and sell on? or sell on as it is to some who knows what they are doin i will try and get some pics up at the weekend thanks |

Track it or break it, I wouldn't bother putting the time/effort/money in to restoring it unless you have a boner for wasting money. Good phase 1's can b had for little money already to be fair! |

It depends what it owes you and if you would be keeping it or looking to sell it and make a profit. If you were keeping it you could put the bits right and have the peace of mind that it's all back as it should be and hopefully have a good, tidy 6 for cheap, those bits wont cost you much to sort really. If you wanted to make money out of it you may aswell just break as it wont be worth that much when fixed. What colour is it? ________________________________________ Ryan |

sounds similar to my story. bought a nailed phase gti6 spent an arm and a leg getting it nie on perfect.it was beautiful, immaculate, my dream car that id wanted since...... I can remember. just after it was perfect (nice new engine) a week later a lorry driver wrote it off completely now im starting over again with another phase 1 (cheap nail). id say if you really want a gti get a better example to start with and use this current one as spares. unless your sad like me and hate money and love hassle. if not how much for your rear brake calipers and idle control valve? ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

My old one is long gone unfortunatly, this website just doesnt like changing my pic. The colour is cherry red but cant think of the paint code off the top of my head. Not many ph1's in that colour anymore so worth saving especially if it only owes you £200 and sounds relativley easy to put back right. If I hadnt just bought a rallye I'd have made you an offer. ________________________________________ Ryan |
