I've read that the sprocket on the crank that drives the cambelt is held in place by the aux belt pulley, is this correct?

I have the aux pulley removed but can't shift the sprocket, any tips please?

Have you removed the woodruff key?

Silly me, woodruff key can't be removed as it's under the sprocket.

I thought it should slide off, just didn't want to give it too much 'persuasion' if I'd forgotten something.

Given it a spray of wd40 so will see if that has much effect

It will slide off, probably just needs some persuasion if it has been on there for a long while.
