my stereo has more movement in it than I like
(yes yes group N engine mounts, but…..)

there is a slot in the inside the dash where the stereo for a rubber buffer type rubber support which screws into my stereo and slots into the dash thus reducing movement.

wondering if anyone could tell me where to get such bolt? Or the name of said bolt with rubber tip?

anyone who has taken out a standard stereo would have seen what I am referring to?

Thanks.

Surely the cage should hold it tight?

the cage doesnt, even when i press all the clips out hard, it still judders about a little (Even before group N engine mounts)

Had a look in halfords couldnt see better headunit cages ; Halfords generic ones looked worse.

yes dragoon you would think that! Mine never and it was that long ago i have no idea were i bought my aftermark jvc from.

Will try halfords when im in the City next, wish i knew what they were actually called so i could search for them online Crazy

I don't think my JVC head unit had a bolt with it either but I know the one you mean, I just went and got a long bolt the right diameter and a piece of hose (think it was fuel hose), put the bolt through the hose and screwed it into the head unit and the whole lot slots into the back of the dash and holds it still.

i found something that looks like it might of came with my stereo
will see how it fits first LOL

my jcv has a thread in back of it to take a bolt, so it might be used for the support

i done this too, so the cage was nice a tight, still doesnt stop the long stereo sagging at the back and moving a little
i think this rubber buffer would eliminate this

I know the thread in the back that you are on about. But I couldn't find anything floating around in the garage that fitted.
Only tried as the original radio had something on the back of it. But it all seems fine at the moment.
