Just wondering as im considering sourcing a new bootlid, when swapping the thing over - is there any need to swap the boot lock as surely its just a generic lock that will open when the central locking tells it to?I.e its not coded to the car is it? Or is it? ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Why drive a Golf....when you can drive a GTi-6? |

Thanks for the pm Dan. Yeah I have a phase3 and a smoothed boot lock with just a button. So just swapping the tail gate I won't need to change the lock will i? Should make swapping it over very simple________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Why drive a Golf....when you can drive a GTi-6? |

Allow alot more time than first glance for changing the bootlid! I did mine on the rallye yesterday and was a twat of a job! Getting the wiring in and out was a nightmare!! |
