To be honest, Id just like an easy to read gauge, partly for show, partly because I like the keep an eye on things. Can anyone answer my original question without worrying themselves too much about my motives? ________________________________________ team: Stealth |

You will need a sender and a gauge and the wiring in between that's about it. I'd fix the original if I was you not a massive fan of gauges on the pillar |

Check the wiring plug is on the standard sender On the front of the sump a couple of inches up. My standard one seems to work spot on,sits nicely under normal driving, give it some stick for abit and it rises as it should, then drops down when you slow down again. The trouble with those ones in your link is those bodgy sump plug adapters for the sender If you could find a aftermarket sender that screws into sump where standard sender goes it would be a better set-up and reading ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

Thanks, some helpful advice there. does everyone else's gauge look like this? I'm not sure I even have a temperature gauge now! I think it looks like the one on the left, which is just an oil level gauge.. ________________________________________ team: Stealth |

Is it a GTI 6 you have? If so it doesnt have the right dials in it. The gauge in your picture is just a level not a temp gauge (which is fitted to the lesser models) also note the redline on your dials is at 6250 as opposed to 7250 in a 6. It will measure your oil level when you switch on the ignition then go off after ten seconds or so. If the clocks have been swapped odds are your mileage is incorrect. ________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

It was an import originally bought in Cyprus by an army officer then exported to the uk. I've noticed it doesn't have an alarm switch on the steering cowl either. I'm guessing it never had one, hence it has a toad alarm. It does redline at 7250 though! might they have a different spec for non uk cars~? ________________________________________ team: Stealth |

My guess would be its had the clocks swapped so it reads in MPH instead of KPH when it came over here and they’ve accidentally swapped the clocks over for those out of a lesser model.Could have been swapped over when new so the mileage might be correct. I also would have thought that if you stick a set of GTI 6 clocks in it you’re oil temp gauge will work I think it’s possible to swap the mileage computer over when changing dials over if you wanted to keep the mileages consistent. ________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

No probs. Im not even sure that they drive in KPH in Cyprus but thats one theory. It’s worth getting hold of a set of 6 clocks and swapping them over as the temp gauge should work fine then. It’s a lot less hassle and will look better than an aftermarket pillar type gauge. ________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

Yes, KPH in Cyprus. It wouldn't have passed the DVLA import inspection without an MPH speedometer.________________________________________ Rich |
