i went to see a chap less than 10 miles away from me to collect some gti6 spares and was very surprised when i found out he has created a 2.2 litre using a gti6 lump. Around 250bhp 205 on tb's. He ordered the parts from various places. Took 5 years to do and spent around £30k iirc. He isn't a qualified mechanic either but it has to be one of the best 205's around. 0-60 in just over 4secs. I had quick ride and its so fast and handles like a gokart.I've asked him to join this forum and post a project thread up as i know it Will be an interesting read. He's not currently on any forums and hasn't been to any track day or events yet. But now he's completed the project I'm sure he'll be showing up at the east anglia meets and events like pugfest. Keep your eyes out on the forum for him if you like a good successful 205 project

What gearbox is he using for that? seems like a very impressive 0-60 time given the power. Or is that "Jamma-time"

could build that for half the price, its just a uk rallye with an mi16 on gti running gear.

i'd say more like £1500 is a realistic price.

i'd recon if i was to sell mine i'd ask £7,500-£8,000. but its not forsale and hopefully never will be.

probably a 1.9 box, one less shift than a 1.6 box to hit 60, given they weigh 900 kilos as a gti, you're talking 280+ to the ton easily.

There's currently a completely standard UK yellow 205 rallye for sale somewhere for £9995, it was in Classic and Sportscar last month.

If i find a link i'll put it up.
