Last night the back in my seat broke.

It is the drivers side seat (standard GTi6 seat), I think a spring has snapped as I managed to look between the seat back and bolster and saw that the metal spring/clip that holds the black plastic rectangle half way up the seat appears to have sheared off.

Is that an easy way to fix this? Cable tie or something? Or can you get replacement springs?

Anyone had similar problems?

Thanks Big grin

Its the lumbar adjuster, you can unclip the seat covering at the front and back and just about get a hand in to replace it, easier if the seat is out of the car. I think there is a guide in the FAQ

I cant get the new search to work, but I'm sure there is on on the lumbar support. One end of the spring goes into the wheel on hte side of the seat, the other end clips into the plastic support. Try and turn the wheel to loosen the tension in it first.

removing the seat is childsplay. make sure you disconnect the seat belt pre-tensioner (under the seat) before dragging it out the door though Thumbs up

Aye I have stripped a cars interior out before, the only bit I have never done is remove the actual fabric/leather from half of the seat lol.

Massive thread revival, does anyone have any idea how to do this? Seems the FAQ is long gone as the link doesn't work.

Cheers!
