Can anyone recommend a good company to lower the back of my 6 in Central Scotland?

I tried this last weekend and stripped the threads off the slide hammer after 3 hits. I was going to try agian this weekend, after some modification to the slide hammer, but may well just pay someone to do it for me if its not too expensive. Lazy Eh? Managed to lower a 309 in the past and it was a pig of a job.

I have been told that Ecosse want a small fortune so any other ideas would be most welcome.

Lol. Not going to budget for a full rebuild just yet.

Already got new front and back mounts fitted; new Bilstein B6's fitted ; planning on a new hybrid arb from Ash.

Just need it lowered about 40mm.

And yes i had to drop the whole beam and use loads of heat when i did the 309.

You may have no choice in the matter, unfortunate thing is, when you get the damned beam apart to lower it, its pure luck if the bearings are still ok (after all the cars 10yrs old +?), so i'd bite the bullet and get a beam done off the car, then swap em over.

May as well make the most of the Bilstein dampers with a fresh beam.

yup, I'd also go 25mm not 40 unless you get some nice fat bars.

Got the front on B8's/eibach's , you recon 25mm lower at the back?

also Fat Bars ? you talkin about 21mm tb's?

Checked Ecosse today and they recon £40 to 80 to lower and fit new arb. Sounds like a winner to me

21mm aint fat, 23mm+ Big grin

25mm rear drop works spot on with Eibachs and 20mm torsion bars, I stick the dummy damper at 322 on most cars.

Ok i'll go for 25mm lower then thanks for the advice.

Larger TB's will need to wait a while due to lack of funds. Hopefully beam will last a while longer can'rt afford to rebuild that either.
