Who do you have and how much do you pay for them?

Asking cos my main daily driver's insurance is up in a few weeks time and I normally take out breakdown cover with the insurance but this time want to see if its better to source it elsewhere or stick with it?

I have ADAC Plus membership (German AA) 79Euros a year and they're the only company who cover the Nurbergring.

If you need to use them in the UK it's the AA who come out anyway.

Otherwise Green Flag would have been my next choice.

I hope to go to the ring next year in my GTi-6 rather than my daily boat mondeo.

Both of my insurers offer breakdown cover inc european cover but dont know if they'll cover the ring too as well as Spa Franchorchamps-SP* as its a track.

Daily boat mondeo... lol. Can relate to that, my missus drives ours, referred to as the 'Blunder Bus' in our family.

From the research i did before i went, non ADAC membership resulted in a €220 bill to be recovered from the ring for whatever reason. I would imagine Spa have their own recovery trucks on site, being a track, whereas the ring is not and hence employ ADAC.

For the same general European cover ADAC were also cheaper than the UK recovery agencies.

I'm with the RAC, was with Green Flag through my bank account but when it came to changing cars, they wouldn't let me change the details they held as you can only have one car registration with them!

EDIT: Oh and I went through Quidco so ended up paying £27 for everything except Euro cover Thumbs up

I have aa through the bank Account. It's a joint account for me and the mrs, so £17 a month covers the aa cover, travel and phone insurance, all of which we use - claimed on the phone ins once, use the travel ins twice a year and used AA twice.

Two weeks ago my trailer broke near Norwich and the AA recovered it, along with the 205 Gti that was on it all the way back to Wolverhampton without issue.

Top service - can't complain.
