Hello again people!

I jumped in my car today to go to work and as i switched the key to ignition live the fuel pump primed as normal. It then continued to prime then on in short bursts and never stopped as it normally does. After opening the bonnet i can hear the relay clicking away in time with the pump priming and can feel pressure through the fuel hoses.

The car refuses to start and no fuel is injected (no fuel from exhaust).

Any ideas?

Knackered battery not providing enough voltage to hold the relay on? Loose earth?

Was dark when i get in, ill have a look tommorrow! Am i right in thinking there is only one earth from the battery on a 6? And that is to the gearbox?

The Battery seams great, was turning the car over at normal speed for about 3 minutes in total.

There are a couple of earths iirc, there's a specific one that goes to the relay box on the right, which I'm pretty sure is where the fuel pump relay is. Could be a problem with that cable Yes

Worth checking your batter connections as well, mine looked fine but the securing bolt was loose, which meant one of the wires was slightly loose and caused all kinds of confusion.

Do crank sensors just fail like that? Literally perfect running yesterday followed by this before work?

Ill have a look around the earths and clean/tighten them all up. Was meaning to do this a while back!

Yes they do.

Check the battery connections and the top of the box. Might be worth trying a different relay as well.

Balls ive just ordered one from Peugeot. As soon as i disconnected the crank sensor the fuel pump would prime but wouldnt pulse. What a pig to remove though. Arrives tommorrow so fingers crossed people!

An XUD one will be covered in black gunk and the 2 dtubs i have outside my house arent mine. Even if it did cross my mind to nick it.
