Hi all, my car has started making a tapping noise from yhe left side of the head. It runs fine and has not had a belt change so im confident its not a valve. Any other ideas I can look at? ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Which one? Try to undo them by hand (without ratchet) as that'll give you an idea if they are loose. Harder to tell with a ratchet.Could also be exhaust manifold gasket or a dodgy but unlikely tappet. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Okay cool, il try on the next 3 at lunch time. Could be exhaust gasket I guess. Il try the plugs and go from there. oh yeah, the one I did so far was the left one as you look at the engine. I must also, the fit of the coil pack to plug felt loose, almost as though it was just sitting on the plug. Is this normal? Or do the clip on?________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Nah, I meant the fitment to the top of the plug inside the coilpack. Done it lunch, plug no.2 was a bit loose. All sorted now though. Cheers boys. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |
