I'm on the look out for a S16 gearbox or GTI6 box (I understand that they can be fitted to the s16).

YES GTI 6 BOX WILL FIT, BUT YOU WILL NEED THE LIFT REVERSE CABLE, AND TO STOP THE TYRES RUBBING IT YOU WILL NEED A GTI6 POWER STEERING RACK. 20 MI16 OR XSARA VTS GAERBOXES ARE THE SAME 5 SPEED AS YOU ALREADY HAVE.

I have both, and the 6 speed does work well on the S16, Have one at work currently, Can supply S/H or Recon, THe recon ones are warranted, the Normal S/H ones just take your chance, Can PX too

Thanks, found a VTS one on Ebay and at the price it was worth the punt. Will bear you in mind if this turns out to a lemon. Out of interest, how much would you do a S/H one for?

S/H Mi/S16 one is £175.00 as that's what I get £150.00 for the CWP alone, Xsara ones are £125.00

Highly recommend miles' boxes and workmanship. I currently have one of his recon be3/6 boxes in my 6 and it's never missed a beat, best box I've ever had. And his prices are very good Thumbs up given the choice of Miles or the eBay one I'd definitely go to Miles
