I believe I inadvertantly buggered my siren / siren relay the other day, I'm pretty sure I heard something 'shorting' when I removed some connectors to the under bonnet fuse box (even though the battery had been disconnected 5 minutes previous).

Symptons are:
Red LED on in car when driving.
No sound when alarm triggered.
Headlights ARE flashing when alarm triggered.

My question is does the siren run through it's own relay?

Any body got any ideas?

Thanks.

no, siren has no relay but there is an alarm control module. you will most likely have simply killed the siren itself, i'd try a new (working) one on there. i would say about 90% of the sirens i have come across have been dead. if it doesn't die from water ingress then you have been very lucky

Your siren is f*cked!

The red L.E.D stays on because of the above mentioned. The headlights flashing is part of the alarm circuit. These can be found in many scrap yards.
