Opinions please.

Changed my engine mount the other day and took some snaps of the light cracking in the chassis metal, but have absolutely no idea whether this is bad enough to require welding up.



Should I get it repaired?

It's not deep cracking, but I'm sure it's not going to get any better!

yup, that's cracked, any cracks are not good!

just find a decent garage and ask them to weld it up Smile

Friendly local garages don't normally do a very good job of this type of repair in my experience. See here...

ooh yeh that does look nice.

to be honest refreshing the engine mount didn't reduce as much of the driveline shunt as i would have liked so this could be a winner.

don't suppose you know if you'll be working on the 30th December do you? I'm expecting to be in Soton that day

nothing like forward planning eh? haha

It will hold up for some time yet if you drive sensible (not too many 0-60 sprints or fearsome downshifts) as those cracks are barely getting started compared to most I see, but they never get better Wink

i try not to drive too brutally most of the time, but i am planning a few more trackdays in the new year. don't want to be spilling engines all over the racing line...
