I fit my gti6 engine in a ph2 and then a ph3 sedan. Problem, I have been getting a vibration on the left side on acceleration in both cars at low speeds it vibrate, on top speeds it smooths out. I have changed drive shafts, ball joints, inner and outer ends power flex bushings I even put on a gti6 stabilizing bar the only thing I have not changed are the 1.6 calipers it originally came with. I am currently using a 1.8 gearbox with gti6 drive shafts. Losing hope cause this vibration is nerve wrecking. What can I do? ________________________________________ RJ |

I know it's a subtle difference but are you certain it's a vibration and not a vidration? ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |

A few ideas for you to look at:-Bulged or flat spotted tyre, jack up one side and put it in second idling (providing the diff is conventional not LSD). Run your finger on the sidewalls and tread as it rotates. -Are you using a 6 box with non six shafts? The inner joint on the BE3/6 box has a shorter stub. Other shafts will bottom out early in the box, effectively giving you no plunge, what you feel is the engine moving left and right as the inner joint rotates. -The car is too low for the inner joint's max angle? I have seen this with one brand of very low spring. -You may have 2 sets of shafts with broken springs in the inner joints one side or the other giving you the same effect as point 2, usually with these shaft issues the gearstick will vibrate under acceleration, moreso in 1st and 2nd. If you find a broken spring in the offside you can remove it but never remove the nearside spring as it relies on this to seal the gear oil in the nearside diff seal. Hope this gives you the answer you're looking for! Give us a call if you need any parts as we often have used shafts etc. Matt ________________________________________ N/A XU10J4RS = 302.1 bhp / 184.2 lb.ftTurbo XU10J4RS = 500.2 bhp / 443 lb.ft USC 2011 Double Class winners N/A FWD 0-60 winners at TRAX 2011 Developers, stockists and installers of superior upgrades for the Peugeot 306 GTi6 & Rallye, including:- *NEW!!!!! 4.8:1 final drive for BE3/6 *BBM Group N engine mounts *Cat Cams and vernier pulleys *Emerald ECU's *Jenvey throttle bodies *Uprated gear linkages and short shifts *Quaife & Tran-X LSD's for BE3/6 *Tar-Ox brake discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads *Solid rear beam mounts *21-25mm torsion bars *25mm rear anti roll bars |
