If you are buying a new key remember you also need the part in the roof as these are a matched pair.

is there no way to program the key to the existing sensor, i looked on a website that gave instructions on how to do it... http://www.programyourkeys.com/Peugeot_306_Key_Remote_Control_Plip_Reprogramming_Instructions.html

You can program the key it's easy, look on autodata or download it and it will give you the instructions it's usually press the botton and within so many seconds lock the door.with the key or along them lines, each car is different

You can't code the single keys for a rallye, only the older 106s etc.
