i have had my car fullly refurbed and it may aswell be a brand new car all is well, im just wondering about my rad fan. The mounting for the fans can house 2 however one space is missing a fan and only holds a sensor. Is this normal? I asume so as i dont see a spare connector for another fan. Am i correct? if i wanted to add another fan could i do so and wire it up in parrallel? this also made me wonder, would a smaller rad with a larger fan work/do they make them? thanks for any info in advance________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

IIRC Rallyes and P1s only had one fan, I know mine does. Seems to work mind, never had it overheat.________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

ah i see. My car doesnt overheat. Except when sitting in traffic and tbh it only reaches 100 as a pose to the normal 90. i put my heater on full blast to correct this. Should i worry about my engine hitting 100 in traffic?________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

Not really, I think the second fan doesn't come on until 103 anyway, as long as all is well it should hold under pressure at that temperature. I don't believe there's anything from stopping you putting on a twin-fan, what phase is yours? ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

mines a phase 1.im glad all is normal. however....... what are the posibilities of mounting a smaller rad with a larger single fan for weight saving? will the rad and fan assembly from my old 1.4 suffice? has anyone done anything like this before? ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

interesting subject btw...i put an 8v turbo in my xsi about 3 years ago and had big trouble with intercooler pipes etc, at the time i considered using a 205 gti rad or a 306 1.6 one. seems 205 rad woul've done me |

ive just started a thread on it. seem an easy enough swap seeing as i have a phase one 1.4 going for spares. rad is tiny and there enough space to get a rather large intercooler verticvally doew one side of it.________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |
