Too f*cking cheap! mine sold this week for ... £500. Bought in May for a grand, spend £700 in August on new wheels/tyres £200 in June on an exhaust and £100 in August on a beam.

... So in 6 months I've lost £1500.

you need to change your sig then! £1500 over 6 months? why spend all that when you have no intention of hanging on to it? i bought mine for £1500 a few years ago and no way have i spent much on it! you clearly have too much money if your happy to let it go so soon! mine now owes me nothing!

I did want to keep it, but it turns out the thought of having a GTi6 was better than the reality of having one. I bought it (and spent money on it) with the intention of using it as a "fun" car. Doing trackdays and using it on days off.

But, it became painfully obvious that I was nebver going to use it for that. So, it became purely a car for getting too and from work. And since it cost quite a lot to run, the clutch was stiff and I'd made it too noisy. I began to hate it.

Its now gone and I'm buying a push bike to do the 2 miles to work and we've changed the family car for a diesel Skoda Octavia VRS MKII, a car much more suited to my needs.

I don't have a lot of cash and running an old, crappy, noisy, uncomfortable "hot hatch" was just annoying me I cut my losses and ran. I should never have bought my second GTi6 but I always had a feeling I'd sold my 1st one too soon. Buying the second one confirmed I did the right thing.

fair shout do the old bill run the "bike to work" scheme? i hear you can get hefty discounts! i know the feeling about it seeming like a good idea at the time.
