Had a pm regarding the car which reminded me of this thread. In short the car hasn't had much love over the past year due to a business venture with a good friend of mine. I won't give any details as I'm unsure what the rules are on here regarding advertising. The car is now primed though so looks a lot better than it did, we are current finishing off a few drift cars for the BDC then my aim is to do a dry build, adjust a few parts of the car then launch it in the booth and get some paint on it, it will certainly see some use this year but I wouldn't hold me to any sort of date as it will be done when I have the spare time which at the moment isn't very often! Thanks for showing interest in the car though, good to know people appreciate it |

No rules as such regarding advertising, if he does a good job feel free to tell us about it I'm sure we'd all like to see some more pics of the car as she stands now if you have any? ________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. The Fast Car one (which is the one in Welshpug's link) was/is the Morris brothers, they first had a 205 in Thundersaloons and then built a 309, IIRC it had a Manta 400 engine before switching to the Cossie. It raced this weekend, I think, in the CSCC Special Saloons (along with the Belmont and Carlton). The one in this thread was built for Paul McMillan. Nice to see it's being looked after. They aren't the same car. ________________________________________ "Talking about badgers is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" Steve McBadgerTransversa aurigatio transcurro arvae. |

Thanks guys. You are correct that mine is the ex McMillan car built by Sonny Howard, a totally different setup to the Morris Brothers 309 which as you say has raced this weekend, and has also been very successful for it first outing. As mentioned the business has meant that our own projects have taken a back seat, as much as I'd like to just see it done I do have a bit of spending yet to do and I would rather see it looking as good as possible. The car is sat in primer still, looking a lot better for it though. Next step will be to finish the bonnet and bootlid as these are now lightened steel items rather than the grp ones the car came with, I will try and keep this thread updated when I get back on with the car. This is one of the last pics I took of the car when we moved into the unit. Myself and Ash ( who has done the bodywork on the 309 ) teamed up just over a year ago and started a business specialising in vehicle preperation, for those on Facebook you can find our page under Relentless Performance. Our website is https://www.relentlessperformance.co.uk. We offer all sorts of services ranging from bespoke roll cages to complete restorations, we are currently involved in building a few drift cars for the current British Drift Championship as well as a restoration on a rare Nissan PS13 as well as a few other cars. We can cater for all vehicles so if there is something you need doing for your road or track car feel free to drop me a PM and we can discuss things further. Hopefully at some point this year we may see a few of you at a track day too Cheers James |
